Work & Collaboration
Professional Services: Dogwood & Deathcap offers a specialized suite of services for those working within the Appalachian region. From site planning to media perspective, we provide the expert observation required to navigate complex cultural and physical landscapes.

Discretion & Security: We prioritize the privacy of our partners. Having operated within high-security and sensitive environments, we maintain strict discretion regarding project details and client identity.

Our Framework: To ensure clear objectives and project integrity, all work is organized into defined paths of engagement, starting with a mandatory project briefing.
Step 1: Project Briefing (The Alignment Session)
Before accepting a new engagement, we require an initial briefing to evaluate scope, feasibility, and regional impact. This session allows us to determine if our office is the correct strategic tool for your objectives.
-
Duration: One (1) hour
-
Investment: $100
-
The Credit: If we move forward, this fee is fully credited toward your first project invoice.
-
The Objective: Establish a "Go/No-Go" path for your project, whether through deliverables, ongoing advisory, or feasibility reconnaissance.
Step 2: Choose Your Partnership
1. Reconnaissance & Deliverables | Project-Based
Best for: When you need a finished intelligence product. We produce tangible assets, from Site Feasibility Investigations and Market Entry Reports to Operational SOPs and Design Intent documents. We work toward defined milestones with a clear finish line.

2. Structural Insight | Strategic Advisory
Best for: When you need an independent perspective on-call. This path functions as a Time-Bank for our brainpower. We provide location evaluations, franchise placement investigation, and cultural context to de-risk your decision-making process.

3. Regional Voice | Media & Perspective
Best for: When you require an authentic Appalachian lens for a global audience. We provide contextual commentary and expert testimony for news outlets, documentary projects, and institutional panels.
Time-Bank Retainers & Pricing
Managed in 15-minute increments to ensure operational efficiency.

Operating Standards
We recognize that our approach is unconventional. Dogwood & Deathcap is a high-focus studio; we do not operate on a volume-based model. By intentionally managing our project capacity, we provide our partners with three distinct advantages:
-
Intellectual Honesty: Because we do not rely on high contract churn, our advisory remains unbiased. We provide a perspective rooted in regional reality, prioritizing the integrity of the project over client appeasement.
-
Dedicated Bandwidth: By replacing informal "brain-picking" with a formal Project Briefing and structured project paths, we ensure your goals receive our undivided professional attention. This eliminates "boundary bleed" and ensures every billable hour is productive.
-
Direct Regional Impact: 10% of the profit from every fee and contract goes directly to our community initiatives, such as the Bedford Transparency Project and the Huntingdon Project. Your investment contributes to the long-term stability of the Blue Ridge.
Selection & Legacy We only accept projects that increase regional stability and strengthen long-term legacy. This vetting process ensures that if we say "yes" to your inquiry, we have the dedicated capacity to see your objectives through to completion.
Confidentiality & Discretion
Standard confidentiality protocols apply to all projects. We routinely execute project-specific NDAs to preserve client privacy and maintain institutional trust, especially within sensitive or restricted environments.
Legacy Mandate
Dogwood & Deathcap operates with a long-term regional focus. We reserve the right to decline inquiries that do not align with our standards for regional stability, clarity, or stewardship. This ensures that our resources remain dedicated to work that strengthens the legacy of the Blue Ridge.
