The Heart of Dogwood & Deathcap

Our Mission

At the heart of Dogwood & Deathcap is the belief that we are stronger together. Community lives in the connections we nurture, the care we show, and the spaces we choose to build. Whether rooted in the physical or the digital, our aim is to create a better world for ourselves, our families, our neighbors, and future generations.

We make space for people to slow down, gather, and reconnect, through shared meals, wellness practices, neighborhood events, and simple acts of kindness. Our work carries forward Appalachian traditions of self-sustenance and mutual aid while embracing modern approaches to health, mindfulness, and community care.

Our products grow out of that same spirit. From self-published books that share our stories, to teas, herbs, and tinctures that draw from the land, everything we create is meant to nurture body, mind, and community. Each offering is a small piece of the larger whole, tools for presence, connection, and resilience.

Wellbeing is more than individual health, it is the collective spirit of a community. By tending to ourselves, we are better able to invest in each other. By honoring our roots and respecting our differences, we make life richer for all.

Here, ya’ll means all.

Our Community Commitment

When a community problem or issue comes to our attention, we commit to taking action. We dedicate time to investigate possible solutions, communicate our process and findings transparently, and partner with local nonprofits and community leaders to create real change. Ten percent of all profits are donated directly toward solving community problems. This is our commitment to our community, and to every client and supporter who believes in our mission and culture.
