Finding Ourselves Once Again

More than a year ago I created Dogwood & Deathcap on paper. Even before that, I often thought about the idea of Dogwood & Deathcap as a creative endeavor.
The function changed a few times, out of what felt like necessity at the time, only to return once again to where it all started.
Most would probably call the process a struggle, and some a probably a confusing waste of time. My own inner voices of doubt say enough of that.
But Today..... Today, Dogwood & Deathcap is once again finding itself, and maybe even more so, it is me finding myself within it.
We all need time, and space, outside of the mundane, the normalcy of our daily lives to create real meaning, ways of true self expression. Not necessarily a performance for others, but a truly freeing, honest expression of self. (Side note, there is magic in the mundane, but I'll save that for another entry.)
Inward self, reflected in a way that we can experience outwardly.
The awesomeness of the soul that is you.
Allowing it to be free is of the highest form self care.
For me, creating Dogwood & Deathcap and breathing life into it, is a part of that.
In creating this space, I hope that others too will be reminded to take the time and make the space to experience the feeling of self alignment, pure expression of self outward.
Whether its playing music, creating art, skateboarding, yoga, running, journaling, hiking, etc, make some time to live.
Maybe that's what Dogwood & Deathcap is, a beacon, a signal, a reminder to Be, not just exist.
